Indie’s Birth – Movement, yoga and massage make for a very fast delivery

Hi Nadine! We just wanted to send a very BIG thank you for providing us with the tools to encourage and aid a drug-free birth.

Our little Indie arrived into our world on 7/10/11 after a very quick and intense 2-hour labour. I dilated from 4cm to 10cm in half an hour! I know 100% that we can credit the quick drug-free labour to what we learnt in Shebirths.

Every contraction I focused on relaxing and going into myself so that I could allow my body to open how it wanted to. With the intense contractions, I used movement, rotating my hips etc to help ease the pressure.

Gareth remembered all the massage techniques, and used them in the bath with me which brought huge relief, and was very confident at keeping me feeling confident and supported- he was amazing:)

Also what was funny was that the position that I loved doing the most in your prenatal yoga class, that felt like it always really opened me…child’s pose…, was the one I laboured in (although I was more upright rather than putting my head on the floor) I even pushed indie out in this position. It felt so good in yoga and then felt the best in the birth ?
